After years of seeing the results of roadside bombs, and having candidates yammer about how we needed/delayed etc. armor for these vehicles -- why are we even using these vehicles, through zones that are giving the USA its most casualties? Can't we make armored vehicles in Dteriot??

I thought that the idea was to liberate the country and free it from tyranny ... so driving around in armored vehicles with military folk who don't speak the language or know the basic courtesies poking guns at the populace doesn't exactly spell a message of liberation. It spells occupation, defeat, and humilation and all it does is breed resistance and resentment.

What the hell is the USA doing there anyway? The plot was lost a long, long time ago.

probably has a lot to do with creating the impression among the iraqis that the troops are open and accessible, i'm not sure a bunch of heavily armored vehicles roaming their streets creates the right impression

Good question. I like the undertone of rage that went with it as well. Yeah, it would seem to make sense seeing how this country pretty much should be able to make anything ever needed...and make it well.

Since we have God on our side, we can do anything!
