To the person above me...not yellow, but a green underbase, hence the term Olive.
Olive is a cool skin tone, believe it or not. To prove this if you're not sure...My husband has olive skin and is half Italian, and he burns easily. I'm half German with more fair, but red skin and I don't burn easily. One time we were out in the sun for the day, he got sun poisoning and I just ended up with a burn. Both of us were not tanned by the sun to begin with.
Tan skin, if it's natural is a warm skin tone. Even when Olive skin is tanned it still looks more cool than if a red or orange base skin has a tan.
Cool skin tones are Olive, light or dark, pink and very light pink, and red/blue in base color.
Warm skin tones are red or orange in base color
Neutral skin tones are wheatish, or yellow, in base color.
As far as peach goes, this is either Neutral or warm, more leaning on the warm side.

No. Olive skin is racial, as in eastern europe, middle eastern or greek. You would never hear anyone correctly say that a Native American has "olive" skin or a Mexican.
From Wikipedia: Sometimes persons are said to be "olive-skinned", to denote shades of medium toned white skin with small hints of yellow and green.
Olives being green though make that seem an odd expression, but also tan is more brown and reddish

definitely not. tan skin is after ur skin is burn , ur skin color will change to tan. tan can fade. so when it fades, it changes to ur original skin color. while, olive skin is natural color. it cannot fade.
here is a fact
Some people tan more easily than others or burn more easily than others. For example, a Skin Type 1 person with fair skin, red hair and freckles will burn easily, resulting in peeling and blistering without any indication that he or she has tanned. On the other hand, a Skin Type 4 person with dark hair and olive skin will tan very well and quite easily even with a minimal amount of sun exposure. It is important to know: repeated exposure of unprotected skin while tanning may increase the risk of skin aging, skin cancer and harmful effects to the skin even if you don't burn.

No, it's not the same.
I have olive skin by my heritage and I am tanned by sitting in the sun.
=)
In winter I get quite pale, but that doesn't change my skin tone.
