obviously the demand for expensive coffee is not being met by the supply--hence new Starbucks popping up on every corner.
I go there because the coffee is good, but not as good as other places. My main reason to go there instead of other coffee joints is Location, Location, Location. They have the market "cornered' on that one. (pun intended)

When people realize Starbucks does not make the best coffee in the universe. Everytime I go to Starbucks, no matter which store, if I order a plain coffee, it taste gross. They scald their coffee. I mean, getting a latte is okay, I guess the milk covers up the burnt-taste but c'mon. There is way better coffee out there that isn't overhyped, overrated and overpriced. I laugh at people who somehow think they have superior taste buds because they drink Starbucks coffee. No, you're just an idiot.

Yes and yes. All coffee is overpriced, but in all fairness, coffee and milk are not actually as cheap as you'd think. There are only so many places you can grow coffee, and so coffee prices can fluctuate based on weather, etc (kind of like grapes for wine). Also, the milk companies tend to stick it to the coffee companies because they can. So yes, $4 for a latte is too much, but $2.50 would be reasonable. Also, Starbucks is way overrated. They have too many stores to be able to get enough quality coffee beans consistently. And the majority of their baristas suck. 90% of them can't make a correct cappucino to save their lives. But they are still a lot better than a cup of Folgers.

Well, in small towns its insane. I'm in a relatively small town, So I've grown up around more reasonably priced eateries. But Starbucks is all over the place, and they're trying to make a profit, not give away coffee. So to many people, including myself, yes it is overpriced.

Overpriced, yes. I get a cup of coffee at Starbuck occasionally; but my rare purchases would not keep them in business.

I don't go there that often. It is WWWAAAAYYYY overpriced!!!!! I prefer Joe Muggs coffee anyway. It is also over priced but tastes better! Since it is so high per cup, I only get one every couple of months. If it was less expensive I would buy more. Poor people can't afford to go there.

The History Channel had a documentary about Coffee.
Folgers was the best quality for about the last 30 years. Then they started adding el busco (saw dust type coffee grown in VietNam).
Now, the only pure Colombian Coffed is Starbucks.
My Wife and I buy Starbucks Coffee at Walmart. It is $7 per pound (it makes about 70 cups of coffee when it is perked).
All other brands have added fillers to lessen the price of manufacturing.
PS: Starbucks doesn't turn bitter after it has been in the coffee pot several hours. All other coffee get really rank after a few hours in the coffee pot.
No: I don't work for Starbucks.

I usually get bar drinks, which I'm not able to make at home, and Dunkin Donuts makes good coffee, but horrible lattes.
Overpriced? Absolutely, but what isn't overpriced these days?
