you will have to have partys, they will be costly also, especially if no one buys anything, and with meetings and things, it does take up time that you have to be prepared for.

All I can say is that my wife at one time thought that she would like to become an Avon rep. What we found out after spending a few hundred dollars in buying the inventory, is that most people are usually advised of the benefits of being an Avon rep by other Avon reps who are usually only trying to meet their personal quotas so they can get the pink Cadillac, or whatever model of car they currently offer! My wife's experience was AWFUL. Unless you have a lot of time to spend on your venture and are VERY motivated and outgoing, you will not do well. It is like any other "work for yourself" gimmick out there. Most of these companies are only interested in getting tons of people to sign on to become a "rep" so they can get a few hundred dollars from them and they do not care whether you truly succeed or not. The fact is that there is no free ride to getting rich quick. HOWEVER, if you know going in that you are going to have to invest some money to buy your inventory, have a wide circle of influence, have a type-a personality and are willing to work it like a full time job, then you may actually end up getting a full time job's pay out of the venture, or more! Just don't buy into their assurances that you can earn big $$ w/o investing a lot of time, money or effort. I guess to sum it up I would just say go into it with your eyes WIDE open.

I can't give you any personal experience regarding Avon, but I know of a business opportunity that has a far greater earning potential than Avon and Mary Kay combined. This opportunity has a make up line as good as, if not better than, both of these companies. The make up is "Pharmaceutical" quality. In addition to make up, it also has the #1 on-line website for health and beauty, plus many, many other products. With this, there are so many other available products you'd have available for you to sell. . . so many other markets you could tap into.If you're interested and would like more information, contact me at hoozdaboss@aol.com

If you are interested in selling products without actually selling products you should email me. Yes, it might sound confusing but it's what I do and it's what thousands of other people do in the organization I work for. The company I am with has been around for over 21 years and grossed over $700 million in the last fiscal year. We are similar to Avon, but COMPLETELY different at the same time. Please email me via the link in my profile and I would be happy to show you a live online presentation that will explain in detail what it is we do and what we can do for you. Hope to hear from you soon.

How about selling Arbonne. Unlike Avon, you don't have to stock your house with products. You get a 35% commission of your sales and you get many more perks, including a Mercedes Benz when you reach a Regional level. The investment is little and the opportunities are great.

I'm an Avon Representative for 12 years now and i love it,they're so many things to sell and it's a good way to earn some money if you don't have a job, like me.You can learn how to get more customers at the meetings if you go(you don't have to) and meet new friends. And you receive the products in your home.Try it,you're going to like it,Good luck.

I was an Avon rep many years ago - takes too much time, too little sales; a big part of the money you make needs to go back into purchasing samples. If you want sell to make money, find another way.

I wouldn't bother. Women can order Avon directly from the Internet. Avon reps are obsolete.

if you get into leadership, I think that you will make alot more, that way you earn from the persons that you sign up. Being a rep, you have income varying from 0 - 40% depending on your order size...to really make something you need a steady flow of order every 2 weeks. You will have to put alot of effort to make a small amount of money.
