They always talk about building fences and increasing patrols and blah blah blah but the truth is they wouldnt come here if there were no opportunities for employment.
Make the fines and punishments so extreme for hiring illegals as to make it a deterrant.

If you hire illegals on your farm then you lose your farm. Use inmates to do the work if you cant get any lazy teens or men to do it. If you are a business the fines should be so steep as to actually hurt them.

I think it is more complex than that, but clearly there is a significant constituency that believes it is necessary to have illegal aliens for economic function. I think another reason is that if Republicans where undermined in part by the President who clearly is for amnesty.
Also, I think many Republicans are wimps on this issue, afraid that they will be called racist. Of coarse they are going to be called racist by Democrats anyway as that is a classic and persistent Democrat strategy. Therefore one would think, they would just do what was right, defend the borders, rather than be concerned about being called a name.

Republicans aren't anxious to pursue the employers because they are an important part of their financial contributors. The employers hire these people knowing that they can pay them less and offer squat for benefits and they will do the work without question because they have no recourse if they complain. Sad, isn't it?
