Of course racism exists - your own experiences prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt - it seems due to the disgusting cultural abomination called 'political correctness' that racism BY minorities is to be ignored even when it results in violence and or death - its racism AGAINST minorities that will get you in trouble.
I hear racist language from blacks and asians and it makes me sick. Why can't we have one rule for all? THAT would be equality. Martin Luther King would be disgusted by the racist jokes spouted by black comedians nowadays.

Yes, of course it exists, whoever dislikes someone because of the colour of their skin, whether it's black or white, that's racialism.
My best friend is a black, South African, I am white, English.
She is the nicest person I have ever known. If I had disliked her purely on the grounds of colour. My life would have been poorer, rather than richer.
Racialism occurs when we don't have respect for each other , respect for our individual culture and feelings.
Yes, there will always be people who have a chip on their shoulder and cry racial abuse at the slightest thing. However, most of us get along fine, if we just care about who that person is.
We can't make the world perfect, there will always be people who hate. You know, we're human beings not super heroes!
We English lost the test match, the Australians made fun of us and we them, but we could still have a drink together and a chat at the end of the game. The Australians didn't have to love us. We are ruthless about what we say to each other but that doesn't mean war!
It doesn't ,does it guys? No that's another question:-)
Regards, Cassandra

Yes, racism does exist but not as much as it is said to. From what I've seen it seems that whenever anybody insinuates that people are different from themsleves, everybody get defensive and accuses the person of being racist. This is because racism has become a taboo subject and everybody is too scared of offending somebody else to mention the fact that people are from different races. Racism is often used as an excuse or reason for petty nastiness or just trying to be a general annoyance.
Basically racism does exist but people don't take much notice as they are too busy trying to deal with 'petty racism' or they simply do not want to get involved for fear of being accused of being racist themselves.

I agree. I'm White and we aren't politically correct if we say anything. The media acts like we are the only "Racists", when I have heard and witnessed alot of other groups doing or saying things about the whites and the other groups. Furthermore I have been at charity functions, free-food kitchens, free-clinics, etc., and virtually all of them are financed by Whites!
Another recent one is if you are against Illegal Immigration, again your a White-Racist. No one ever points out its Illegal, or that Mexico doesn't tolerate Illegal Immigration, or that these Mexicans shouldn't be making babies if they are living in total poverty, or that America doesn't ow them anything. Does any of this common sense enter their little Latino heads, or the American Liberals ? Nope, it never does, like they say you can't argue with an idiot.
Furthermore if "Whites" are such "Racists" why do the other groups tend to try to move into our neighborhoods and areas and not the other way around.
Another thing is they have black, Asian, Hispanic etc. student associations, clubs, committees, and so on. Now can you Imagine the media and protest backlash there would be if there were "White" student associations, clubs etc. You notice how you virtually never see it. Talk about a double standard!
You know if the "Whites" all went to Mars then they would all follow us there too!!!

I totally agree with you. Everything you are saying is true. I can talk to a black friend and make a racist joke about another person and it's all laughs, (let me now tell you I don't normally use the word 'black' because I only see brown people, or 'coloured' like myself. Never seen a 'black' person or a 'white' person in my life..... but you're right.
The race card IS used too often - it's true that if you're 'white' you don't get noticed, you're ignored, but if you're 'black' or from another culture everyone listens because they don't want to appear against you. All poppycock and a load of old wash.
When a person called me a bad name when I was a kid, I just told them how ignorant they were - I certainly didn't go running round with big tears, waving my arms, taking them to court etc. It's all out of hand now.
It's wrong that we can't express our true feelings without upsetting someone. It's wrong that it's deemed correct to tiptoe around certain subjects. I know it's not nice to hurt peoples feelings, but it's also wrong that free speech has gone out of the window.
I would be called 'racist' because I don't care a fig where you're from, if I don't like your people I don't like them and I'll flippin well say I don't. I don't care where you're from.

I believe that in some aspects it does exist, i personally have no problem with any culture, colour or religion but have had problems with my children being bullied by both asian and white people. My daughter got into a fight with a white girl who hit her first and asked if she could change forms in school but was told no, the same thing then happened with an asian boy and he was allowed to move because it was classed as racist. I think the government breeds racism by allowing colour to make a difference.

I'm really sorry about the racist experiences you went through and your tutors weren't helpful either as they were also fueling the racist tauts on you.
Yes, racism exists in different forms only many people play it down for fear of being on the wrong side like what you did.

Even a casual perusal of Yahoo answers will reveal that there are indeed people who beleive others are inferior or evil based on nothing other than their ethnicity. This is racism and it is real and active.
Your anecedote is worrying, it does sound as if you were a victim of racism yourself.

There are various reasons we treat people disrespectfully. One can be that we regard everyone of a particular race as being inferior. That is racism whether the person doing it is black, white or brown.
