I avoid them like the plague..or a cold or the flu, etc..it's a nasty habit, the double-dipping and all..somebody could have fecal matter on their fingers or something!

pour them out. The whole hand in the bag thing is fine if it's all yours of if you're sharing with a loved one. But the pour out is best for social events!

It wouldn't be called a community bag of chips if you poured them into a bowl. You pass the bag around and dig in. Of course, that is also how you contract colds, flu, etc.

You wouldn't want to be like the candy mints on the counters at restaurants. They checked out the mints in the bowls. All of them had urine spots on them............What does that prove, you ask? I would say it proves not everyone is washing their hands after going tinkle in the bathroom...........

I stick my hands in ... but I think the socially acceptable way is to pour them on a plate.

Depends on the 'community' and the situation.

For good manners sake, I'd pour them...but some may take offense. "What's the matter - too good for us?" they may say.

For social share, I'd grab from the bag...but some may skeeve if I touch another chip.

Safe way to go is ASK the person who's bag it is if you may take some and watch what others are doing.

I sit within sight of the community food table at work. If I know one of the stinky boys (or stinky girls) has reached in, I pass completely. If I've noticed everyone is "pouring" out onto a paper towel, I follow suit. And finally, if it has just been opened by one of my friends, I'm all up in that nasty. We're like family, having worked together for over 10 years.

Depends on who you are sharing with.

If you know them well, dig in. If they are casual aquaintences, or people with questionable hygeine, or if your hands aren't the cleanest, I think pouring is more polite.

Or reach for a handful and quit after that, so your hand is only in once.

I like to shake them to the edge and grab a handful, even if it is my own bag. I don't like greasy arm or back of hand.

Just my two cents.

I'm a pour person.

My family is a reach in the bag group.

I buy my own bag.

I stick my hand in and get a couple at a time. If I catch the plague from doing so, so be it.
