Sometimes what it says about my sign is true what are the characteristics of a capricorn because I want to see if it defines me.

...if you were born in the season of capricorn (dec.22 appx. to jan.19 appx.) ... then reading capricorn may/will provide some insight into how your feeling nature and purpose will relate.

however...i wish to caution you. that there is much more to astrology than the date of your birth. although it is significant.

characteristics common of capricorn and without regarding other valueable astrological/seasonal significators are.......

.) self-leading for the purpose to be accepted by society with the values/potential which are learned and inherent of the person.

.) socially nurturing...capricorns are the builders of the zodiac.
not that they are the only builders.....but it is the purpose of capricorn to direct management to the cause of a socially sustainable environment....and in turn be nurtured in that process.

I have found the ones that are more accurate are the ones that go by birthdate, not just a sign. Birthdate horoscopes can be terrifyingly accurate. General ones by sign are hit & miss. I take those as more fun & a way to get you unstuck in your daily life by considering other ways or paths. It's all up to you. There is no 1 right answer or we would all be using it!
