" Who will win? "

Back in early 1900's there were some matches played back then.. but lets face it cricket and baseball have changed drastically, pitchers/bowlers can reach 90+mph.

I believe in order to have a controlled experiment, 16 college baseball players from US should play against 16 Australian college cricket players, and they should be given ONLY! 30 days each to hone their new cricketing or baseball skills (i.e pitching./bowling, hitting/batting, fielding).

Then they should play one baseball game, and one 3 day Test match.
no doubt each team should be able to win in their respective sport.. but the KEY will be to see who Will adapt easily?

so what do u all think can it be done?

Hands down cricketers would win.

Anyone can quickly learn to throw a baseball, its throwing a ball, and slogging a baseball in a right angled field. And cricketers know how to play baseball, most people in the world do. (i know cricketers could not throw any decent pitch other than a fastball.. and would get smashed)

Baseball players would have no chance in cricket. IT would take them double that time to learn the rules. the bowling style would confuse them, and they wouldn't get that down, and they would have no idea how to bat in the MIDDLE of the field, and playing shots in a 360 degree field.

A few cricketers have actually be approached to check their interest in baseball. Cricketers would love the fact it is a free walk if they get hit. Baseball players would not appreciate a 140km+ ball *88+mph) ball at their head every some often, which is perfectly legal, and has no penalty attached.

I am a avid fan of both sports, and there is no way baseball players have a chance. the fact the ball bounces would trouble baseball players no end, not to mention not having a glove. adding those helps cricketers, not hurts them..

Of course each would win their own sport easily, but cricketers would adapt pretty easy, while the baseball players will not adapt at all. Just because you can throw baseball, you cannot bowl in cricket. throwing a cricket ball is not far off pitching a baseball.

Very interesting question. I believe that baseball players would adapt easier, though I do not know much about cricket, cricket has less rules. To holdon. A pitch thrown a 88 mph is slow for baseball. Nolan Ryan could throw at 105 mph.

Cricket is a joke. What other sport in the world takes days to play a game? Has anyone ever heard of a baseball game taking time out for tea? Baseball is a real sport, not cricket.

Very different sports, but I think the baseball players would have an easier time adapting to the cricket swing than the other way around.

I'm not going to knock cricket, though - it's not something I follow closely, but it's an enjoyable sport to play.
