By not worrying.

1. Consider the consequences.
If I lose this job, can I get another one? Probably.
If I don't make more money soon, can I survive? Probably.
If I don't meet someone soon, can I survive? Probably.

2. Consider what can be done about your problems.
Be solution-oriented rather than problem oriented. Be pro-active rather than reactive. Do things according to your desire and vision (within reason and within the law). By being forward thinking and goal oriented, you will worry less about what can go wrong and more motivated to make your plans work.

3. Count your blessings.
You are alive. That's good. Do you have all of your limbs? That's good. (Even if you don't have most or any of your limbs) are you able to think clearly? That's good. Continue this line of thinking. You've survived up till now, you'll probably survive for many years/decades to come.

4. Get philosophical.
Concentrate on the good things that you have. Concentrate on the abilities you have. Continue acting in good and rational ways. Understand that we all will die. If there is an afterlife, there will be no more pain or suffering (we think). If there is no afterlife, then there will be no more pain or suffering. As for your material things, they come and they go. We don't really own them -- we may lose them any time. Enjoy them while you have them. If you lose them, work to regain them, if you like. If you choose not to try to regain them, be glad that you have been removed of the burden of ownership. (Sources: Marcus Aurelius; Epictetus)

It's not easy to do all of these things. But when you start to worry, you can try to talk yourself out of panic or despair using these techniques.

Good luck.

What do you worry about?

I used to have massive social anxiety. I stopped worrying by making myself do retail, sales, customer service and eventually bar tending. That fixed the - oooh people don't like me or I don't know how to present myself - worry really fast.

Do you worry about health? Go to the gym and eat right.

Do you worry about things just to worry about them? Try yoga and meditation and no coffee or sugar. No, not kidding about that one. Oh yeah, and stop biting your fingernails there are better things to eat.

Do you worry about your relationship? Concentrate on "selling" yourself (for lack of a better descriptor) and being all you can be for that person (and for yourself of course).

I hope this helps.

If you worry and it doesn't stop you from doing things, or keep you awake when you should be sleeping, then there are alot of self help books available. If you worry and it does stop you from doing thing's that need to be done or keeps you from sleeping you may want to seek therapy, it will affect your physical health.

Open your eyes to the world.

No matter what your problems are, there are tons of people that are in worse situations. Homeless or hungry in some 3rd world country. Living in fear of militias killing your family and raping your childrens.

It just makes whatever you're worrying about feel trivial and dumb

just remember there are well over 6 billion people in the world, and picture yourself as a microscopic dot from outter space. now that you feel small and unimortant on that level, think of how much your actions and problems really matter! just have fun and be responsible. make sure the ones you love know it, and you're living well!

Anti-depresants. I think the spell for the that is one phone call to a shrink, one 1 hour appointment, one prescription, followed by a trip to the pharmacy. Mix it all together and worries be gone.
