I do know Wal-Mart is like Hillary's Haliburton: she's made quite a profit by them

Of course not but liberal politicians are using Walmart's policy of "no Unions" as a means to whip up the pro-union crowd (typically democrat). You can believe that many liberals shop there because they like the prices.

There is nothing I buy at Wal-Mart that I can buy from a local vendor. The only place that's lost some of my business since Wal-Mart came in is Fred Meyer, which is owned by Kroger, so I don't feel bad at all shopping at Wal-Mart.

People keep telling me that Wal-Mart treats their employees like crap - I don't know if that's true or not. All I can say is that our local Wal-Mart doesn't seem to have an exceedingly high turn-over rate; you see the same faces time after time. My sister-in-law works there, and she LOVES it. She's very smart and I used to be bothered by what I saw as a lack of ambition - but she loves her job so much, I'm actually a little envious. Don't get me wrong - I have a great job and I'm certainly not quitting to work at Wal-Mart, but it's really nice to see someone doing what they truly enjoy.

Because Wal-Mart pays their employees as little as they can get away with and provides the worst, most expensive health insurance. They actually encourage their employees to get on Medicaid and take advantage of government assistance with a "that's what you pay taxes for" attitude. They come into towns and 'create jobs' but in the meantime, they put small businesses out of business and keep people in poverty with their low wages. They don't only keep Americans in poverty, they keep all of the poor sweatshop workers in other countries in poverty. They are the richest corporation in the US and give back to the community the least. They have an option for employees to have a deduction from their checks to help other walmart workers in times of financial need. I can't remember the exact numbers but walmart employees contributed something like 1 million dollars and walmart corporation donated about $500.
They don't allow unions because that would mean employees had rights. If they believe people are conspiring to form a union, they are fired.
Need more reasons?
You should watch the documentary: "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices"
It's a shame that people like "redneck66" (enough said) want to attack liberals and YES we do vote, thank you. Personal opinions don't matter. Look at the facts. Wal-Mart is not a nice business, period. People that know about their unfair practices and continue to shop there are as selfish as the billionaire Waltons, 5 of which are in the top 10 richest people in the country.

I don't hate Wal Mart because I am a liberal. I hate Wal Mart because it is a highly unpleasant shopping experience and not worth the nickle or dime I would save. I find the clientele are generally haggared, shouting, stressed out types. Their aisles are loaded with displays, and there is an announcement every 5 seconds over the pa system.

I'd much prefer Target--it is very clean, nicer, calmer. I don't care about the extra couple of cents.

Also, there is no reason why Wal Mart has to treat its employees so poorly. Shame on them!

I don't dislike wal-mart... but I know a bunch of conservatives that do... I bet you could find some pretty easy too...

go to the downtown of a nearby small town... ask the mom and pop vendors, most will probably be older conservatives, what they think of wal-mart... most won't leave any room for doubt how they feel...

a good followup question could be... Do any small store owners, besides restaurants, like wal-mart?

I worked at Target for a period in college and I can tell you that they treat their employees well. I have not heard this about Wal-Mart, but rather the exact opposite. That is my reason for not shopping at Wal-Mart.

You honestly think they will ever see it that way, your kidding yourself. The only people that are evil for making a profit are political opponents in their eyes.

Read "Do as I say, not as I do" a book about liberal hypocricy it will open your eyes and really pizz you off too.

Hah! the above two answers prove my point, they attack Wal-Mart and completely gloss over the point of the question, man it so easy to predict the actions of liberals.

Sexy34- yet another, still counting.

I'm a liberal, and I hate Wal-Mart because I can't afford to shop there.

I don't work, get welfare checks, eat govt surplus cheese, and shoot up heroin. My check is so small. that by the end of the month I can't pay the rent for my Section 8 housing.

Maybe I should become a Republican so I could get one of those govt contracts.

Yes they do, because wal-mart stands for everything they are against, the free market, capitalism, generating revenue and employing 100s of thousands. And don't give me that ole worn out illogical logic that they put mom and pop out of business, what kind of idiocy is that? Mom and pop could not in a thousand years put as many to work as wal-mart does, They could not pay what wal-mart pays, nor could they provide the benefits that wal-mart provides. The next time you see a supercenter go up just watch how many additional small business spring up all around it: Fast food, restaurants, shoe stores, salons, Hobby Lobby, etc. etc. etc.... Oh yeah betcha mom and pop could match that. Our communities are better off financially when there's a wal-mart on the block PERIOD... END OF DEBATE....THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO LOOK AT IT!!!!!!!!!! The Person above me is the kind of person I'm referring to. And think about it, these people vote. Kinda scary when you think about it.
