My laptop was working fine then one day I got a blue when I turned on the computer. It says that a registry hive is missing and windows can not boot. I get the a similar message if I boot in safe mode. My laptop's cd drive doesn't work plus I don't have a windows instalation cd to install from. What can I do? Please help

Check with your laptop's manufacturer and see if you can order restore disk. Usually not that expensive to get. Once you get that, load and should be good, just will lose previous data and applications.
