they did a show the other night about the fact that when the titanic sunk it took some down because of the suction of the ship. and at first every thing looked like it was going to be myth confirmed when he did the bubble trick he sunk like a stone. until they sunk a tug boat and he didn't sink with it. this is what confused me they cut a number of holes in the tug so it would sink faster plus the opened all the doors and hatches i mean correct me if I'm wrong it would have been the air trapped in the stern and escaping that would have made it suck people down?

The Titanic was a much bigger vessel and generated more force when it sank, thereby pulling down with it people and loose items.

It took FOUR HOURS for the Titanic to sink. The biggest suction would have likely been either at the start or the very end. Actually proably have been about the point it headed straight up and down basically. It would be very hard to make a true test, except to go by a scale model. Even then you would have to build a scale model of the Titanic based on how the ship was built. You would then have to compare how it got the hole in it when you go to sink it. I'm not sure if you really could get a fair comparison of the suction with the Titanic itself.

Mythbusters is nothing more than entertainment. They occasionally have interesting experiments and actually follow somewhat precise experimental protocol, but they're just as likely to declare "busted" or "confirmed" based on imprecise reenactments using materials and methodologies totally dissimilar to those used to create the story in the first place.

I don't watch them any more. Their logic is flawed.
