Penguins live (for breeding purposes) in the
Antarctic, South America, Australia, New Zealand,
the Galapagos Islands (this is the furthest north
they breed) and various subantarctic islands. They
do not occur in the northern hemisphere, where
a similar ecologic niche is occupied by birds of
the family Alcidae, the auks, puffins, murres, etc.
Out of the breeding season they range widely in
the southern oceans.

It would depend on what species you were. If you were a Humbolt penguin, you'd live on the beach in Chile. If you were an emperor penguin, you'd live in Antarctica. If you were a cute, cuddly penguin, you'd live in a Disney film.

Antarctica or the southern tip of south America, and islands in that area.
Unless you are in a zoo, then it can be anywhere.
