My hamster is long haired and it lives in wood chips. Everytime I get it out I have to pick off little wood chips so my bed won't be itchy. Should I get styrofoam? Or will it choke itself if it bites and eats some?

Styrofoam is soft, pretty toxic and would clog its stomach. At least wood isn't toxic. When you get your hamster out, why don't you put it in a "decontamination" zone, i.e. somewhere without wood chips in it, so the wood chips the hamster has on it fall off in that area before you take him somewhere else?

Wood chips are better for the animal. Why is the hamster in your bed?

Styrofoam could seriously hurt your hamster! Ask your local pet store if there is a healthy, natural alternative.

No sytrofoam will not be good for the hamster. He might try to eat it and choke on it. The poor hamster will suffocate.

I don't know anything about hamsters but that sounds like a very bad idea.

What are you getting it for. I don't recommend it because they will just chew right thru it in minutes. You know they chew on any and everything.

No. It will kill the hamster.

That would probably kill your pet! Try something else!
