You could say Merry Christmas to me now and then after Christmas is over you can say Happy Holidays. That covers everything.
Merry Christmas to you! or Happy Holidays!
whichever you prefer.....

I don't have a problem with either one. If I'm saying it to someone who is, say, Jewish or if I didn't know then I would say Happy Holidays. It wouldn't make sense to say Merry Christmas to someone who doesn't celebrate it.

me!! i like to hear Merry Christmas as i love this time of year (but not the cold Brrrrrr) but i dont think u can really call it a holiday as most ppl dont get alot of time off work ( a week tops ) ...
