"Crap-rock" is all because of Blink 182, but the other pop music is just basically because 14 year old girls buy most of the records, so radio stations try to cater to them.

Simple... the music companies think less and less of consumers. Every year more money is invested in looks and sex-appeal than is invested in talent.

The one singular event that started this chain-reaction was file-sharing over the Internet. It injures the behemoths of the music industry, and slowly kills them. The big rise of ridiculous and convicted Rap musicians, sex-toys in form of little girls and pretty much everything that as little in common with talent as possible (and probably intelligence - Avril Lavigne?! sheesh) is used as hook-worms for the gullible consumer.

A revolution is coming... artists are gaining power over their music again by being able to distribute their music independently. And the music companies know it.

I agree. The 70's and the 80's were the bomb. The kids say have you heard this new song. Yes for example the Beach Boys wrote it or the Beatles wrote it. They have no imagination anymore. Even the country they are redoing the old rock and roll that really sucks.

Because it isn't music anymore. It's just a bunch of words with a lot of banging and twanging in the background. I have some REAL music that I could listen to for days on end and never get tired of it.

i hate the radio too. i recommend going to launchcast.com and making your own station. just rate a few artists you like and they'll play music similar to that band. its a great way to find new music. its also free.
