i own a shop, and make sure the transfer case is in the drive position, and not the neutral position on it,,other wise it may have gotten the transmission that has gone out,,but these do usually give some kind of a warning,,check the fluid in it make sure its full, and look and see if it has a burnt smell to it,,if it does its gone,,check around though before you have it repaired,,there's always someone cheaper than the first one you ask about it,,good luck, hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

people are so out of touch with conventional that they don't realize it is every bit as good as synthetic. The only thing you need to do is change your oil on a regular basis and keep your air filter changed which helps keep the oil clean. I have owned and operated 3 quick lubes for 18 years now and I have seen and heard about everything. Some guy will come in and want synthetic oil and the whole time he is in he brags how he can get 300k miles on his car with synthetic. The next car will have 300k miles on it and the customer is using conventional oil. Point is don't waste your money synthetic oil is not the answer to making an engine last long preventative maintenance is the key.

It seems you are in the costly world of "Dodge transmission". Dodge used to produce one of the toughest transmissions on the planet. Now they've produced a defective product with their newer generation of tranny- PERIOD!!! Do like everybody else and replace it then get rid of it. I just wonder why the government hasn't intervened on behalf of the American consumer and made Dodge recall all of these transmissions?

The converter or the pump in your transmission has let go. Drop transmission pan and inspect material in pan. If you have fine metal shavings in the pan, then you definitely have a converter problem. The transmission will have to be overhauled to fix.
Good luck. Hope this helps!

sounds like a clogged tranny filter, when it gets going it sucks the crud into the uptake and blocks fluid flow. drop your tranny pan, and install a new transmission filter.clean out all the gunk in the tranny pan,and use a new gasket on the pan.refill with dex 3 atf tranny fluid.when draining the tranny, be sure to do the transfer at the same time since they share the same fluid.

Low fluid.
Worn tranny.
Just remember...The $2k for a new tranny is less than car payments.

Your transmission is f****d. You'll have to determine whether its worth $2,000 for a new one.
Sorry.
