Having seen the last eisode of season 2 - yes she will leave (She doesn't die... well techically she does, but she doesn't, you'll have to watch to see).

At the end of the episode where she leaves is where the Christmas Doctor Who epiode will be.

The new girl appears 1st episode of season 3.
