Depends whats on the floor. lets say you pull it up being either carpet, tile, stone, hardwood floor and get to the sub floor sheathing. See when a builder builds a home and they install the sub-floor alot of builders to save alittle money they just nail the sub-floor sheathing to the floor joists rather than installing a bead of sub-floor adhesive. So with time and pressure the sheathing pops and the nails work loose so you get squeaks. You will find the squeaky area and put a screw in the spot. Make sure you screw it into a floor joist or it won't do anything for you. This should do it because, pulling up you sub-floor to adhesive down your sheathing is just not cost efffective.

floors are loose and pressure on them causes the squeaks. If you are talking carpet, you can screw them down and the carpet will hide the screw heads, caution don't let the fiber get wrapped around the screw. If it is other type flooring, the same fix applies, it is harder to hide the fix. A little noise in the area via radio, etc. does wonders.

Well one way you have to get under neath and brace it. Or I heard if you put baby powder under neath it will stop the squeaky floor.

I use ring shank nails, and nail the floor down to the floor joists.
If there's carpet, I pull it back, and nail away, then put the carpet back down.
