When my throat is sore I gargle with Listerine, it kills the germs and amazingly stops the throat from hurting for about 30 minutes. You don't have to use full strength you can dilute with water. Before what I would do is use pain killers that also helped but Listerine will get rid of Bactria and promote healing since bacteria is eliminated but use the Listerine when ever our throat starts to get sore. Don't use anything that's flavored for gargling I don't find it works.

Just keep rinsing your mouth and drinking lots of cold water. If you have a humidifier or vaporizer use it. Sometimes the low humidity in the air can cause a sore throat.

Gargle with apple cider vinegar. It's a natural germicide. You would do well to swich a teaspoon of ACV in your mouth a couple times a day to ensure bacteria stays away.

For overall health, make a habit of making an ACV tea sweetened with honey and have that after a meal at least once a day. To make a tea, add 1 tablespoon of ACV to a cup of water, heat in the microwave for a minute, then add honey to sweeten. DO NOT use sugar. There are medicinal qualities in honey but none in sugar.

There is no cure, but throat losenges (spelling?) can provide good relief if you just keep poppin' them in. Tylenol can ease the pain and they have sprays for sore throats, but your whole mouth ends up numb with them.
