I woke up this morning and had no Internet. Called the cable company and was b!tching about it, and the CSR said, "Well, if you'd PAY it, we wouldn't turn it off!"

Had to run out to the cable office and take care of that little oversight......doh!

The Republican plan does not affect anyone on SS right now and it will not affect anyone on SS in the next 10 years. But alas.....the ignorance of liberalism is bliss. The people who have paid into SS the most will receive the most and so forth until eventually SS will be phased out over time. Unfortunately people who are in their 20's, 30's and 40's now may not receive what they have paid into it or may not receive any at all. SS was intended to be used for SS only, but the government has been stealing from it for years to pay for other programs. We simply cannot afford it anymore.

They never shut you off after one bill not being paid. There is always the next bill where they give you a reminder and then there is the notices they send out long before they cut you off. Must have been a big oversight...lol

Never. Everyone here has a computer. Just use quicken and set up recurring bill reminders. When a bill arrives I immediately pay it using my bank's online bill payment service. There is therefore no way to forget.

Yes, one time I had a stack of bills in my glove box that I was taking to the post office to mail and I accidentally left one bill behind in my car. I didn't find it until it was too late.

LOL A similar thing happened to me last month...all my "extras" on my home phone were gone....caller id, voice mail, etc....so I called tech service and started bitching and the woman interrupts to say"I'll connect you to billing now..it appears we suspended these due to your bill being past due" WHOOPS! I felt like an asshole and hung up...I probably shouldve talked to them cuz after I paid the bill and called to tell them to re-connect they informed me that my long distance plan would be reativated also.....omfg I had nooo idea..I thought I had unlimited long distance...I paid full price for a week...not lookig forward to getting that damn bill

Never happened to me. Generally they give you more than one notice, then it's the FINAL notice. That's usually how it is with this you can't live without, heat/hotwater, etc....maybe you should switch internet providers.

No. They mail you many notices and most even call a few times before they turn it off.
