The Kings used to eat bread mixed with Gold. They had special people who were referred to as the Mfkutz (meaning gold washer). They would process gold to its purest form and it would become this white powder. They would put this in bread and serve it to their Kings...

I thought at first you were asking about something else....
I'd guess something involving figs...
I know they are Greek and Italian...
but for some reason I also picture figs being eaten in Egypt.
