The CSI episode Fur and Loathing changed my life. Odd as it may seem. You see this is the episode that talks about furries. I was shocked by the episode and went to the internet to find out if there was actually a subculture of freaks called furries. I not only discovered that there really were furries but also found out that the episode in question portrayed them poorly (go figure) and that I had alot in common with them.
That led me on a journey into furry, where I met many new friends. Among them several gay men. As I got to know these men, I discovered that gay men are just like any other men (except for 1 thing of course) I was raised in a very religious household and although my parents taught me to use my mind, there were rules (the bible) that were strictly followed. Because of this I never saw gay men as anything other than the stereotypical gay queen. (because I never actually met any)
When I was younger and had feelings for other men I suppressed them because I was taught that it was a sin and the it was the devil tempting me. Also I did not act like the gay men that were protrayed in the media, so I must not be gay.
Discovering that there were actually masculine gay men and having met some and finding out that they were are just ordinary everyday guys, led me to accept myself as the gay man that I have always been. It changed my life forever and I am happier than I have been in many many years.
In short, the furry fandom led me to meet gay men which led me to embracing the real me.

Many things have come and gone that have left indelible marks on my life. Joining the military and being trained to do something I never thought I could.
Becoming a mother and raising an amazingly talented, caring, handsome young man.
Finding the love of my life who has given me a home where our family can grow and share.
All of these things have changed my life in ways I never could have imagined and for each I am eternally grateful.
