I personally would say yes and no...there are always better jobs...and even though you may love your mate there is a chance you could be even better with someone else...

But what causes us as humans to always look in the next pasture and see the green grass and want it even if we have a wonderful pasture of our own...?

I think that most humans feel that way, but when it comes to maintaining that green grass, it is going to take the same amount of work no matter where it is. Every green pasture has it's up's and down's, you just have to be flexible.

Well, if the grass is greener on the other side...chances are the water bill is higher from all that it takes to make the grass greener....

What few fail to realize is that everything, work, relationships, etc., all require work, or effort. If there is a problem in your own backyard, you must fertilize and water to make the grass as green as you may want it....people that have chosen to neglect the back yard and hop to the other side where they think it is greener, often find the grass fading in time, just like it did with their own backyard....

Do you know anyone who is content with the way they are?

Consider this...

You have a person, anyone, and on the outside they appear to be beautiful, have a great job, drive a nice car, great relationship new house, ... money, and you are thinking wow, they have it all. What could they possibly need? I wish I had that kind of lifestyle.... etc. etc.

Now on the inside the argue with their mate over sex, money, children. Everyone does.

Grass is only greener from the appearance... when you get a little closer and look at it, it is still the same as yours.

All that glitters is not gold, but it sure is enticing. Temptation is there to challenge humans' ability to make proper choices and show them for who they really are. One who is not enticed by the glitz is secure with not having to follow all of the Joneses who are after the biggest, brightest, shiniest, or the best. Those are just opinions in one's eyes. Then humans feel deceived when the oasis turns into something else that we think we didn't bargain for when we made that choice to go after it. We never take the time to check it out thoroughly before we size it up as something that we can change to fit us and not think of what else or how else are we going to work with this greener thing we thought was greener. But it obviously caught one's eye for a reason - why don't we challenge it. What really are we looking for? Because we are always looking and never satisfied. It surely let's me know that a whole lot of people are not happy because they continue to look for something they think is better.

The grass could never be greener on the other side, to me. I love my life, just the way it is. My fiance is the most amazing man and I know there is no one better for me out there, because he is perfect for me. Had you asked me this question three years agao I'd have said the grass is definately greener on the other side. Now though, I've found happiness.

As you do get older and interact with people of various social grounds... you discover that everyone has several common problems...

1) Never enough money to pay the bills... because people spend or invest everything they earn... so that they never have any cash flow.

2) That they all have family problems.

3) That they all need a holiday from working

4) That every job... no matter what it is... has its problems.

5) That no-one on this planet is 100% happy and that many don't even know what happiness means... as they confuse it with money.

Life is often difficult and challenging. Human nature and the human condition keep us forging on, often times looking for relief. I think we're all looking for the same thing, peace of mind, free from pain and worry. But, then when we realize how many people are worse off than ourselves, reality kicks in and we can be thankful for what we have. Today, my grass is lookin' pretty green!

It is...until you get there! Then you see that it is just about the same...it only LOOKED greener...
In other words..LIFE and CHOICES are basically the same...
WE make them unique and different!
It is our ATTITUDE that really makes the difference! It is all in how we look at life, and how we respond to the "cause and effect" of everything that makes the "grass greener!"

WHY???
You ask... WHY do we all want the greener grass???
Because we are all human, and it is an innate desire to strive for perfection...or to better ourselves...orit is just our nature to "want" what we cannot have!
For some people..it is what keeps them going...just one more mountain..one mor hill, one more curve...one more valley...until we reach the NEXT mountain top..the next platau...the next straight way! The next GOAL!!!
Always striving ...always moving forward...keeps us living!!! Keeps us vibrant!!! Keeps us wanting ....greener grass!

Hardly ever. Nine times out of ten the grass will be either just as green or even brown on the other side. There will always be a risk, you just have to decide if that one percent is worth it.
