I have toshiba laptop, everytime we leave the computer on and after some idle time it will try to go in stand by mode and freeze up, when i try to do any thing it will give me a blue screen. i have windows xp home edition on this machine, any help will be appreciated.

Did you add any programs or deleted programs befoer this started?

Have you treid F8 Safe Mode when starting up, you can ran scandisk/defrag from there.

What are your settings set at in start, control panel, Appearance/Themes, Display? You might be able to change some settings.

If all else fales, try Start, Help & Support, type in your question there and it will search your computer/internet for a answer.

Blue screen of death means that you gotta re-install windows from square one. Immediately after install and internet setup. Go right to windows update and download EVERYTHING. But before you get started, I'd put any info you want to save on a thumb drive to reload later. (hint, this excludes media files)

you need to write down the error code that it gives you and do a search on it. most likely it's a driver problem from what I've seen
