I watched the movie this past weekend and found it to be entertaining and actually a pretty great movie. Sure, there were a few scenes where I wanted to gouge out my eyes because it was boring, but the action scenes in that movie are incredible. The acting is alright in the movie, I didn't seem to have any problem with it, and the way that they leave it open at the end for a second one was pretty cool. They had no loose ends at the end of the movie, things unraveled and came together just like they should have. Great movie i'd say, if it's not your sort of thing though I suggest waiting until DVD. Even if you're unsure...DVD would be the way to go because it'd be cheaper.

Buy the book. The movie is a waste of time. You'll get ten times more entertainment out of reading the book than watching the movie. The movie lacked the emotion, action, and friendship that was formed in the novel. Honestly people! how can you mess up such a great story with a 104 minute movie! In my opinion, the movie should have been twice as long considering how many important events got left out. i give it a C+, but the book gets an A.

Its a pretty BAD interpretation of a Very good book series. Everyone wants to reinvent the wheel, the director changed ALOT. They want to be the next LOTR...but what they forget is that that series was transfered to film soo well because the Director,. Peter Jackson, for the most part stuck religeously to the books, only ommiting minor things... to make drastic changes like they did in Eragon, turns it into a totally different story....it was bad, dont waste yer 10 bucks seeing it.

possibly no longer :- "Eragon grossed approximately $seventy 5 million interior the U. S. and $173.9 million someplace else, totalling $249 million international.[22] videos would desire to gross extra or less two times their production and distribution costs to interrupt even:[23] Eragon, which had a production funds of $a hundred million and distribution costs of an predicted $30 million,[24] did no longer attain this threshold."

I thought the special effects were excellent but....(and it's a big but)
I felt like I was watching a bad combination of Star wars and LOTR! I know, how could a combination of those movies be bad right? Well they managed it here.
The story seems so like star wars - with a 'chosen one' who starts out as a mere 'farm-boy' yawwwwn.
Then there was a bunch of orcs who were rejected from LOTR as they had forgotten to paint themselves green.
yada yada yada bad bald guy - yada yada yada chosen one - yada yada yada dragon - yada yada yada orcs yada yada yada the end.
You can always just enjoy the special effects - otherwise rent it on DVD!

I really enjoyed it. i have not read the book but I liked it enough that I am going to read the series. The movie left room at the end for a trilogy methinks. I would go see it if I were you. Some great special effects.

check rottentomatoes.com for an aggregate review from critics around the nation. The scores are created into one final score (which is called the tomatometer). 60 percent and above it is considered fresh.
