Those forced air heaters are awfully noisy, but heat the air quicker.
If you're going to be in the garrage for a while, or go out there often, I would go with convection.
If you're only going out there for a short time occasionaly, I'd go with forced air.

I have a forced air heater and it's very nice. I'll run it during the winter to thaw out my snowmobiles.
