I would go with the 1GB of ddr2 because thats what i do. It works real nice and fast. I do games also. Like bf2 americas army, COD2. Which are all CPU spec hogs.

Your board doesn't support both DDR and DDR2, it supports one or the other. Buy what your board supports.
To answer your question, it depends on the application. Many games use more than 1GB of memory, and in that case 2GB DDR >>> 1GB DDR2.

you cannot use ddr in place of ddr2 or the other way around any way there's no such thing as too much memory the more the better but the mother board can only handle so much right

For most applications (or games ) 1GB of RAM is enough, therefore, I would have to say that DDR2 is the way to go.

id rule out the HP seeing as its have been given the smallest quantity of ram and processor is a tad weaker. decide for the lenovo for the reason that your saying its in enormously plenty the comparable budget. and you get a bigger no longer difficulty-free disc, 3gb of ram, and believe me 0.2GHz won't make a significant distinction from the Dell yet a million GB def is enormously notciable. And the pictures taking part in cards are the comparable so its somewhat as much as you. If the Dell is severely extra low-fee by ability of roughly 2 hundred dollars then id get it reason you will get extra ram enormously much less high priced from newegg and different web pages. i will toughen this theory the 1st 2 are somewhat comparable they'll carry out incredibly the comparable, the areas interior them would be from the comparable production facility whilst people say Dell is crap or Lenovo is crap they are ignorant as hell Dell and HP and Lenovo are in basic terms finding out to purchase from OEM factories and in basic terms putting the computing device mutually and branding it. i've got have been given a Dell 1720 2.2GHz processor 2gb ram and a 250 no longer difficulty-free disc and that i take advantage of it for all your purposes different than presentation and it works fantastic different than I somewhat have somewhat extra kick interior the pictures card 8600m GT. besides the two of the 1st 2 would be your superb guess! satisfied finding out!!

it depends on wat ur mother board supports
2 gb is ddr is common and 1gb ddr2 is supported by new motherboards only
if ur motherboard doesnt support it then no use of installing it in ur pc
just check wether ur motherboard is capable or not
