First thing I'm going to say is that suicide is never the answer! You have at least another 50 years ahead of you! You are 21, you've had full rights as an adult since you were 18, tell your parents this and that you are allowed to do anything you want to, also that you respect what they are asking you to do but that you need to be able to live your own life. Maybe see a psychologist at your university/college, they usually offer fairly cheap counselling or maybe free. Keep your head up high and push through sweetie!

I'm not sure what you mean by concentration? But, an AA in ECE is not worth much at all. You can look forward to a job where you are paid little more than min. wage....$8.00 would be extremely good pay. Unless you are planning on opening your own centner. If you want to work in ECE then I would suggest that you AT LEAST get your BA. Then you would be able to work for the state as a head start teacher and make a bit more....not much but more. At any rate, you can not expect to make much at all in this field. People that work in this field do it for the love of children...nothing more. Good Luck :)

If you enjoy working with children then it would be a good fit. If you get the Bachelor's degree, consider getting a teaching credential in the state you are living in, so that you can teach preschool/kindergarten in a public school. While school teacher salaries are fairly low, they are better than day care wages, they are unionized and have excellent health and retirement benefits.

do you want to live at or near the porverty line? If not change your degree to one of the following.
1.) Something that pays more than minimum wage.
2.) Something that will let you meet a man who has a job but no kids.
