There are many options.
realator.com is a good first step to let you know what is available in your area. However, you can also go to the websites of your local realtors (ex. Long and Foster). Their search engines are more powerful, and usually contain more information. Finally, your realtor can sign you up to get frequent messages letting you know when new property comes on the market that is in your price range.

There are many web sites that have property listed for sale. Before you look for listing to purchase you should see if you are qualified to purchase a property at all.
You should look in the local telephone book and select a mortgage broker to get you a pre-approval letter. Not a pre-qualified letter, but a pre-approval.
He will require a lot of items from you as proof that you are a qualified buyer. So gather up all that is required and give to him on a timely basis.
He will need 1 month of pay stubs, 2 yrs of w-2 and fed dincome taxes, 6 months of bank statements from all your banks you use to inlcude any 401-k program you participate in at your work place.
Once you speak with him he will need to obtain a credit report, so be prepared to pay a fee of approximately $25.00 maybe less , but not more, maybe free, but be prepared to pay. Ask if y ou can get it back if the loan closes?
He will want fill out an application that is very lengthly so take your favorite beverage and don't be in a hurry.
After the application and the credit report the mortgage broker will then be able to tell you what you progrgams you are for, the amount you can be lent as well as a interest rate that you can qualify for. You will also be told if you have to bring in money for a down payment or if you can get a 100% financing.
I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

there are millions of sites out there with house listings on them.. but when you work with an agent or broker they have access to all homes on the market and they can send you daily updates with new houses, price changes, and houses that have sold or gone under agreement in your price range and location. So your best bet may be to find an agent if you plan on going through an agent, or you can go through for sale by owners, and in that case you can just go to forsalebyowner.com
