Isn't it odd that muslims who immigrate here and become citizens are still more loyal to their home countries than they are to America?

Some, not all, middle eastern countries are third world countries. And their population consists of mainly Muslims. They come here to make a better life for themselves and for their family. Usually, the whole family can not come here with them, so they often return back to their original country to visit their family. Many send money back home to support their loved ones. National pride does not just up and disappear that quick. If you move and change schools as a child, and your new school's football team is playing against your old school, who do you cheer for? It can go either way. It may take some time before you are as loyal and proud of your new school as you were to your old school where you know everybody. How about if you see your old school's football team playing another team that you have no concern for? Will you automatically want your old school to lose? And hey.. Muslims aren't the only ones coming here with pride for their original country. And we are not terrorists!!! Some bad apples fell off the tree. Do we say that all catholic priests are child molesters??

Are we only talking about Muslims here? Aint it the same with any nationalities that just migrated and became citizens to any other country as well? I can tell you havent tried to live in any other country for long bec even wherever you are and what you had become, there's no place like home. And for Scotty and Mr X, I hope youd be the only ones to be blown up. Not because a Muslim is mentioned, you will stereotype all as terrorist. And to the one who said that the quran orders Muslim to kill people who are not DAR something, its not true because otherwise all Christians, Jews,or any other religion that are working in any Muslim country will not keep on coming back and still lots are coming to find jobs.

First of all this is not odd at all. As everyone already mention, they immigrate for purpose.. America promotes equal opportunities to everyone.

They of course still have feeling of belongingness, home where they were born. This applies to everyone who travel the world for a career or anything else. Not only the muslims.. Your statement is iniquitous . Other immigrants from china, latin, indian and many more also loyal to their home country.

For you and Mr. X- for your info in Dubai and many rich GCC arab countries, it's full with Americans and other europeans folks . Who are there to gain opportunities and different experiences.. and if u ask any, they will still regardless of how many years they are there.. will love and loyal to their own home country.. That is why they call it home.

Going to other place does not mean u became a different person totally. Its important to know where u come from because it makes u the person u are today.

Understand the situation before making a blind statement that focus only on one group..

You're right but I think this is true of a lot of immigrants. It used to before be that immigrants were so greatful for a chance at a better life in a better country that they worked really hard and would be the proudest new citizens because they are happy for the new life they've been fortunate enough to be granted. We've lost all sense of that now -if the countries they came from are so wonderful and so much better why the heck did you move here.

It would not seem odd if I tell you that muslims of India are loyal to Pakistan which IS NOT THEIR HOME COUNTRY. The reason behind this mentality is that, that countries like US of A and India are Darul-Haq and Quran forbids muslims to be loyal to any Darul-Haq. So they just can't be loyal to the countries which are not Darul-Islam. Instead, they will try to convert the people of such countries to Islam and if they refuse to convert, Quran orders muslims to kill the people of such countries. So don't expect that muslims living in your country will be loyal to your country if it is not Darul-Islam. These people come with a hidden agenda of producing more children and increasing population so that after some hundred years, population of muslims will be more and then they will demand for a different muslim nation or they will declare the civil war in that country.

Islam is a religion and not a country.I am a Muslim and a born loyal citizen to my country America..its not called being loyal. Its called that Bushs goverment is killings Muslims and you feel bad about it. And why is it bad to love your grandparents country? And not only Muslim immigrints feel loyal to their country, it is everyone that came to america and are not used to its culture.so don't say 'only' Muslims. I hope I cleared it out for you. :)

If you emmigrated to, say, England (for whatever reason), would you be more loyal to them or to your old country?

If someone's been living somewhere their entire lives, just because they emmigrate somewhere else, doesn't mean they suddenly become more loyal to their new homeland.

People come here for many reasons, including opportunity. It sometimes takes a long time for a feeling of loyalty to come about. Loyalty is something that takes time to develop. Many of these people also still have family back in their old countries.

Because probably, America isn't their real country.....Just like if you moved from America to Africa, you would be more loyal to America because you grew up their and such.
