Well it is not a horrible GPA but it is not a strong one. Though different schools may use a different scale, a 2.4 GPA is just under a C average. C is a solid passing GPA but not fantastic. A C is usually a 2.5. Therefore, you are likely at a C-. The best way to raise your GPA in college is to get to know your teachers. Visit them during office hours, ask them what you can do to get an A in the class. To get good grades you need to put in the time, and your professor will advise you on how to best spend that time. Of course, if good grades aren't relevant to you, most colleges graduate you with anything above a D average. Good luck.

Well, it all greatly depends on the college.
A 2.4 means that on a 4.0 scale, you're slightly higher than average. Generally, the breakdown is:
A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0.0
So, you're carrying about a C+ average, and a C is generally considered average.
For the future, athletic programs and some scholarships require you to maintain a 2.0 or higher. Some scholarships are more limiting in requiring a 3.0 or higher. Just food for thought if you plan to look into scholarships or extra-curricular programs.
Overall, I applaud you for maintaining your GPA and for being in college. Many people just don't go to college these days, and I'm glad you're taking that step to improve yourself and the community. I also challenge you to improve wherever and however you can, but make sure that you are getting the most out of the best education you can.
Cheers, and happy holidays.

2.4 gpa is a C. Grades mean very little once you get your first job and have experience on your resume, unless you are thinking about grad school. Even then, you can still get into grad school by proving that you have a good work ethic by holding down a job and showing how it will improve your current skill set.
My best advice to you would be to try to pull it up. It takes hard work but it is worth it in the end. Not to show people your GPA, but to make you ork harder in life. Once college is over the fun ride comes to a screeching halt for a while unless you are wealthy.
Hope that helps!

4.0= A= Excellent
3.0= B= Good
2.0= C= Average
1.0= D= Below Average/Poor
0.0= E= Failing
With a 2.4 you are in the "average" range. If you can get up to a 2.5 you will be halfway between "average" and "good".
With an "average" G.P.A, you are good enough to be the President of the United States. Just ask George W. Bush.

In terms of a career, it depends upon your degree.
I would recommend you getting some career-related job experience, such as a summer internship or a co-op position. If you do a halfway decent job, most likely the same company will hire you out of college over the high gpa, no work experience candidate.
If you have no job experience, then you need a GPA over 3.0 for most companies to be serious about you.

Thats like a C+
It's not great, but it's not horrible. Bush got a 2.0, so did Colin Powell. So you know you can get far... lol.
Anyway, a 2.4 is not bad, it's actually good. Unlike what most people are saying, YOU CAN get into grad. school (but why would you want to? lol)
My suggestion is, think about what you want to do, and pursue that. Go around and look for a job.
It's like Benali said,
--->Some people get jobs because they have a degree that speaks for them, others get jobs because they have a mouth that speaks for them.<----
If you really want a job, you can get it if you improve your verbal skills, get rid of nervousness, and talk like you know what the hell you're talking about. Confidence and first impressions mean more than you think.

Depends if your school is on a 3 point or a 4 point scale.
GPA = Grade Point Average
Each class you have credit hours and marks. Multiply the credit hours of each course by what your marks were in that course. Add those all up and divide that by your total amount of credit hours and that is your GPA.
On a 4 point scale:
4 = A
3 = B
2 = C
1 = D
0 = F

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING nowadays. I graduated at the top of my class, deans list every semester, and after graduation I wasn't any better off than those people who got 2.4s. Just make sure you learn a skill and get the degree. Jobs aren't going to look at your gpa.

It means you should aim for a higher GPA. You probably have about a "C" average. If you plan go to onto grad school, better bring that GPA up to a 3.0.
