Do all you people REALLY think you are going to stop people from being gay? Do you REALLY htink you are going to stop equal rights for gay and lesbian folks? Do you REALLY think that all your hate and bigotry will accomplish anything at all?
What, do you think that the millions of gay folks in this country and going to hear what you are saying and go "Wow, they really hate me, I'd better go back in the closet or act straight." Do you really think that?
You know, gay and lesbian folks have been around since earliest recorded history and guess what? They aren't going anywhere. Ever. They are here to stay. They will eventualy have equal rights and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Ever.
Its funny. Every time I hear a gay basher or some religious anti-gay fanatic talk, its like listening to Hitler or all those folks back in the '60's speaking out against equal rights for blacks.

Gay rights have EXPLODED in the last 20 years alone. Do you anti-gay bigots REALLY think you can stop it?

A round of applause for you, my friend!! Well said, indeed. I'm straight as an arrow, but have terrific friendships with gays and lesbians. What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of my business. I just enjoy being with them because they have big hearts and they are decent, responsible people. When we are together we don't discuss my straightness ot their gayness... we're just buddies enjoying each other's company. Simple as that. I don't know why we can't all get along. People need to get over themselves.

Post this in the religion and spirituality section because you're preaching to the choir. It's a great point though. I always wonder why people believe i would choose to be gay when it's been the thing about me which has been most attacked and challenged by others. I would never choose that if i had a choice, especially when i was the age i was when i came out. If you do re post this in the R&S section then just be prepared for a bunch of nonsensical religious preaching and arguments like "It's just wrong" and "It's unnatural" or, my favourite "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". :-)

No I don't think we can stop it because they are people too and they deserve rights just as much as the next person. Plus the reason people came to America was to be free from persecution, and while I don't completely agree with it they have every right to do what it is that they want to in life. So no I personally don't think it can be stopped but there always will be people against it no matter what you do, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about that.

Wow! Too bad there's not a "best question" award that we could give here!

I keep having dreams of seeing the Reverend Fred Phelphs on the cover of the New York Times alongside his gay lover. Boy wouldn't THAT explain a lot! :-)

Peace to all....

History repeats itself... It can't be an atrocity without a bad guy. Too bad really... coz they'er the ones playing the Devil's advocate this time... and they think that we're the ones with the Devil... tsk tsk... time to open those dusty history books...

slavery...
salem witchhunt...
inquisition...
crusades...
all done in the name of Christ...

but did Christ really approve?

Once again the minority is oppressed... Hmmm... what would Jesus do? But I guess they'd rather derive E=mc2 rather than state the obvious.

Serious response: No, it is not going to be stopped. I have nothing against gay people, and have many friends who are gay who don't hold it against me that I believe the actions of homosexuals to be out of line with the teachings of Christ. This world is slowly loosing any sense of morality and political correctness is making people lazy. Before the end of the world (not that I am being a doomsdayer) we will see our country and the world falling apart. In the end though, I try and respect everyone.

Whoa! All that anger. I hope it made you feel better. If you are brave enough to be who you are, you should also be brave enough to be understanding of people who feel just as strongly as you do about their intolerant, ignorant, and hate filled views. You are not behaving any better than they are. Hate breeds hate. Why not live and let live?

Peace to you and yours. Merry Christmas to all.

People don't bash to get us to go straight. People bash to make themselves feel better. As pathetic as it may seem, this is often a way to distance oneself from anxiety stemming from unconscious homosexual tendencies.
