Look at about ten years for a sensible one

approx. 3 years for the small ones and 6-7 years for the taller ones (6-8 feet).
During the dryness in Europe in the last 18 months trees grow less and hence there is a bit of a shortage on the tall Christmas trees this year.

Cheers

A.

Yes, Tiggy, there is a Father Christmas, and the trees grow about a foot a year, at least at first.
A Merry "most happy yet" Christmas to you too! And to everyone else!

Hello, bored Tiggy. I'm sitting at home because of a job injury and BORED out of my mind. Your answer about 10 years. I took agriculture in high-school, and the stories of trees are being cut faster than they are being grown isn't true. Timber companys plant more trees each year than they cut and the christmas tree along with the pulp industry is HUGE, and vital to our economy. You would be amazed at how many lives are affected by the 'tree industry'.----------just call me Cliff-------

emmmm quite a long time i think,,

Seriously Christmas trees (Sitca Spruce) are grown commercially in the UK for timber, we actually have a pretty good track record 2 trees being planted for every one harvested, it takes around 15 to 20 years (depending on soil) for the tree to mature enough for timber and in answer to your question from 2 to 5 years

They are slow growing. We plant 300mm saplings and they are 5 foot after about 4-5 years.

So, from seed it would be 5-7 years.

Want one ? we normal harvest about 50/year for local distribution

Many, many years and really they shouldn't be cut for Xmas but left to grow in peace. What's wrong with an artificial tree?
