The Snob Mob calls direct democracy "mob rule." When will we stand up to these spoiled snakes and the wimpy traitors who support them against the majority?

We have always had majority rule in one way or another. If it wasn't by someone who had a majority of the votes, then it was a majority of politicians or money (same thing?) or the majority of the weapons (thats the real reason we have that little amendment in the constitution - not for militias but from our own need to protect ourselves from our own govt if it gets too full of itself). Its also a problem when the minority is given too many tools to bully the majority. Sounds crazy but its the results of excesses by both. The key to majority rule is that you must rule ethically. Given that we have beome more ethically challenged of late I'm not sure what to do there. Its seems like the more MBA's people get the worst things become. To answer you thought on trusting politicians - NEVER, NO WAY, VERBOTEN, NO NO NO!!!! You can only fully trust in yourself and arm yourself with the knowledge to survive amongst them for the safety of your family and closest friends. You are your best protector not a paternalistic or maternalistic govt that only looks after its own interests in your name and with your tax dollars for the benefit of those that keep it in power. The stories you hear about things that families do to each other and treasonous friends are disheartening. Careful select your friends - family oh well. Despite everything we still probably have one of the best forms of govt on the planet. I think soon it may get even better. The days of the American Empire are ending. Our military adventures are bankrupting us the way it did the British and the Romans. Then maybe we can get back to the business of business.

Majority rule is undesirable because the rights of the minority do not exist. besides, a collection of human beings can basically vote themselves a largesse from the treasury in the experience that they make a majority. really, they basically unmarried someone out, confiscate their wealth, and redistribute it. This nonetheless occurs in a representative democracy, yet minority rights are secure more beneficial, fantastically by way of U.S. structure, which calls for more beneficial than a majority to modify. Our leaders are meant to steer us, not pander to our whims. they should be wiser than us, privvy to extra information, and make an effort to study about the large image beforehand making judgements (which incorporates historic attitude). Few human beings do this, I cutting-edge the finished authorities element of Yahoo solutions as data.

I don't have a problem with the representative government, but I do have a problem with POLITICIANS. I believe that the people who vote are responsible for the mess we are in. They continually elect career politicians. Why would anyone want to elect someone who has made a career out of lying and cheating the US public?

By representative government, I want a government that is not made up of lawyers and wealthy men, but a government made up of people who have actually worked in the real world without a dime to their name. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of smear campaign money to run, and the average joe on the street has too many skeletons in the closet.

My mother actually refused to vote for a candidate, because that candidate had filed for bankruptcy! Everybody should be allowed their failures in life.

I say solve the problem and elect ME as Emperor of the United States! Of course we would have to get the Kennedys to give up the position first. Would have to look under a bridge somewhere to find Teddy.

Mob-rule-style democracy, where all citizens have a voice and "use it or lose it" isn't necessarily any better than the flustercuck we've got in place now.
