I've tried counseling with counselors, psychologist, social workers, and talking just makes things worse. I've tried medications, at least a dozen different ones, probably more. I have had some serious side effects without any improvement.
On my own... I've tried controlling my thoughts and I've tried just letting them be. I've tried getting along with my family and peers. I've tried standing up for myself. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried a personal spirituality. I've tried going to church. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how bad the church thing ended.
I'm still miserable. I hate what goes on in my head. No voices or anything. They're just thoughts. I can tell the difference because one of the meds I took made me hear voices.
In relation to the world around me, the worst thing about everything is my financial situation. I have a part time job, but there aren't any more that 12 hours available any given week. I can't seem to get another job.
Any suggestions?

I think the thoughts are messages from your self to your self. The longer we don't listen to these messages, perhaps due to not developing a skill of honoring our feelings and needs, the more strident and painful the thoughts and accompanying feelings become. What that message is can be elusive. Obsessive and compulsive thoughts are often motivated by a need not to have other thoughts and feelings enter consciousness. Cognitive pychotherapies often don't listen to these messages. You might want to give therapy another try but find a therapist who practices psychodynamic therapy. Sorry you're having so much pain. As for the work thing. I included a couple of online survey websites that give you money for participating in consumer surveys. As long as you have free time, until you land the job you want, maybe these will help. Good luck.

At the end there you basically resolved yourproblem. Stay busy, definitely work more hours, pretend to be happy for a while and eventually it sticks, work on relaxing during your time off, and maybe even find some sort of creative outlet like acting. Mostly stop trying to figure yourself out, the harder you push the farther away it gets.
Obviously you've alienated everyone by now so it's probably time to eat your words, swallow your pride and start apologizing to all the people who keep telling you the same things over and over. Why? Because they're probably right, dude.
DO NOT try to control your thoughts, bad move. Find some place to sit back, detach, and watch them float by.
How long has this been going on? What have you been diagnosed as having? What type of medications were you on? Oy! Too many questions.
Look, just don't hurt anybody. And if you have to hurt someone, then pick on someone your own size, not women and children. I seriously doubt you've tried everything and if you have then you're surrounded by incompetent pseudo-professionals.
Also, the only way talking works is if you are seriously being honest with the mental health professional. The next time you sit down with a counselor start out by saying the hardest thing about yourself that there is to say. All the ugly stuff, dude, no matter if it's about bloody murderous rampages or hurting yourself, just say it, get it outside of you, unload.
Also, if you've been diagnosed as mildly schizophrenic with depression, then I suggest abilify and paxil. Very very few side effects.
Good luck, Bro'. We're all pulling for you (For our own sakes of course).

I can only suggest some things. Because you have so much spare time, you should be doing the following:
1. Spend an hour a day at the gym working out and cardio
2. Spend an hour a day at the library
3. Volunteer an hour a day at a local service organization
4. Spend an hour a day reading the Holy Bible
5. Go back to church
Your vague conclusions don't provide any real facts, and I hope you are still under a doctor's care, but just going to church may not provide the background you need from reading the Bible.
Good Luck

If you wish extra 'blank and tidy' matters to do, then you definitely would wash different flooring, filth and varnish, blank home windows, have a difference round with furnishings, prepare matters another way, variety by way of your kitchen and so on Or some thing amusing, move out and store until you drop!

If you haven't yet tried meditation, sign up for a class. I won't say I've been through what you're going through, but meditation helped me get through one of the worst and saddest times of my life. Don't give up.

Abe Lincoln said that most people are as happy as they choose to be. I hope you gave the medications adequate time to start working.

Just be patient...and hang out with your firends...talk about your feelings...it is just a phase....you will find another job...I promise you...in the mean time...just enjoy your life...don't think about the future...think about how you gonna spend your day.
good luck.
