How did you "find" the code to unlock your phone? You need the Subsidy code to unlock the phone from the orange network. For Samsung, the only place you can "find" the code would be to pay orange for it. If you found it anyware but Orange, it will not work.
Take the phone to a shop or market, pay £5.00 to £10.00 pounds and it will trully be unlocked. Unlocking will not remove the Orange logo. The phone will function properly but if you want to access the net you will have to enter the new providers settings
Cheers

The Samsung D500 can be easily unlocked at a local cell phone store. You'll find the most common way is using a hardware CLIP to unlock it. They can be purchased on eBay for under $20 and will unlock unlimited numbers of phones. (You could buy, unlock, and then resell it on eBay if you like).

Features will be fine, but certain carrier specific features (like message and web) may have to have their settings updated.
