I am looking to open a small sneaker/shoe boutique in the Boston area?
I work for a shoe company now, but would love to own my own store. Does anyone have any experience with this ?? I don't know where to start.

Although I am not from the Boston area, I am a business owner. Here is where you can begin:

1. Obtain your creditials (business license, reseller certificate, business cards)
2. Attend the WSA show in Las Vegas, it is one of the best shoe shows in the US. There are others that you can attend as well.
3. Find your niche in the market. You will be competing with major department stores, discount stores..etc. For example you can carry hard to find sizes like Zappos carries size 5 for women.
4. Create a business plan, if you don't know how to do this go to sba.gov, this website is catered to assisting start-up businesses.

We got a Boston Terrier when I was 3 or 4. She was never agressive with me at all. They are also low maintenance (don't shed as much as a lot of breeds and are generally healthy). They can be kind of hyper so be prepared for that, and you may want to think about getting an adult. They are also smart dogs and seem to know they need to be gentle with children.
