Why would anyone get mad? The "Christmas" traditions started long before Christianity was even a religion, and Jesus was not born in the winter. Some Christians get mad at other Christians for celebrating because it is "too Pagan" for them!

The reason Christians started to celebrate this holiday was because many Pagan celebrated the Winter Solstice, and they thought that by putting Christian themes to the holiday it would help them convert the non-Christians.

A better questions should be, "Do you feel angry that there are Christians celebrating the Winter Solstice?"

Yes, I somewhat feel annoyed that non Christians celebrate Christmas because Christmas is a Christian holiday. Christmas celebrates the birth of God's son Jesus Christ. I feel Christmas has become too secularized and commercialized; many people nowdays have no idea about the religious meaning of the holiday.

Oh my goodness.. am i even to believe that even for celebration, you ought to find some reasons to create a disagreement ??

Come on, Christmas is a special day for the Christians, yes. And they have their prayers and after that share this moment with others just like any other celebration by other religions. Always, they will have dinner party and invite people of all ethnics and religions. Christmas and other celebrations is time full of cheer and it's time you share happiness. Others respect each other celebration and they enjoy spending time for holidays or visiting Christians friends during this days.

I am not a Christian but i enjoy this celebration with my Christians friends and their families. They make it a must for me each year to come for this celebration. Hey, and the families is of total mix religions. So the father is Buddhist and Mom is Christian, so does that mean the dad can't celebrate?? It doesn't mean that they disrespect the religion. Its TOGETHERNESS..

Celebration is time to be jolly. Forget the differences and have fun and enjoy the diverse cultures...

Man, take a chill pill :) Its Global world now.. happy holidays to you and everyone..

They can call the gift giving holiday something else (secular) where people can give gifts and celebrate that time of year together and make Christmas a separate Christian only holiday. The only reason non-Christians celebrate Christmas is the gift giving commercialized part of it. If Christmas was a holiday that didn't include Santa, Rudolph, trees and gifts, the most all non-Christians would hardly give Christmas a second thought.

So stop whining.

I can't say that I feel angry. Because some Christians who celebrate Christmas don't celebrate the Christan or christ part of it. They're more wrapped up into Santa.

No. Christmas is secular to alot more people then you think and many of the traditions are non-christain in nature anyway. Should I feel angry that Christmas was placed in December to overshadow pagan celebrations and that having evergreens as decor was a custom that was "stolen"?

I dont get angry but however I do think it is a little ridiculous to be celbrating something espeically if you don't truely believe in it. Alot of people just like to celebrate Christmas just to recieve presents but that is not what Christmas is about,Christmas is to celebrate Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with giving presents. But that is my personal opinion. I am a Christian myself.

I don't feel angry that others celebrate Christmas. I wonder if YOU know that Christmas was actually a pagan holiday called Yule before it was ever Christmas. The pagans celebrated the solstice by decorating their homes with greenery and holly berries in anticipation of the spring to come.

Feeling angry about this is a waste of emotion. If I'm going to be angry, there's aways war, starvation, exploitation of children...

Since the traditions of Christmas have little or nothing to do with Jesus, his teachings, or his followers, the celebration can be enjoyed by many who are non-religious.

No, but I resent the fact that it was originally a pagan festival and Christians criticize pagans for sending out cards that say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas".

Isn't being a Christian about tolerence?? Isn't "to be a Christian means to be Christ-like" a common phrase? A Christian should never slur, bash or judge anyone for celebrating a season that has been a centerpiece for thousands of years before Christianity was even founded.

Besides, in the teachings of Jesus, we were taught to love and respect others. Regardless of who or what they are.
