Or does the idea of world peace simply go against the violent nature of mankind? Can wars be prevented by simply stamping out territoriality, greed, and ignorance? I'm assuming it's much more complex than that. Let's hear your thoughts.

No, I don't think we'll ever achieve world peace except by totalitarianism - one leader for the whole world, just because of human nature.

I don't think it will be achievable until everyone shares the same culture, religion, etc. But even then, the rich are going to want to stay rich, and the poor are going to want to be rich. I don't think it is possible. Maybe if the world becomes like the one in Demolition Man. But I never want to live there.

it's a lovely thought but i believe it is an impossible goal. as long as there are power hungry monsters in the world, sadly, things will never change.
