Wow, that is a massive question. But If I had to wrap it all up in only one word, it would be 'tolerance'. If everyone practiced it, then diversity in a culture would not be an issue.
Other than that, I would define diversity as not only simple differences in society, but also those differences being accepted, cherished, supported and encouraged in said society.
Unfortunately, the only thing that stands in the way is religious doctrine and beliefs. It amazes me that so many religions preach diversity and love and support of your fellow man, but on the flip side of the token, unleashes a bigot brigade.

All types, kinds of things or people, in the case of people, all being one with the exception of nationality, personality, funny, weird, odd, heavy, thin, blonde, brunettes, black, white, and sexual orientation...all that makes us unique, equal but different or diverse .No two people are alike unlike things, which can be multiplied exactly the same. I know this sounds a little strange but that's the best way I can put it.

There are different contexts that diversity can describe. In the human context, diversity is a group that consists of different kinds of people.

Using synonyms really helps to make my words diverse. It's so annoying when you have to repeat the same word over and over!
I also use a thesaurus for writing my papers for college.

Just gotta love diversity.
The fact that we are all unique despite belonging to a particular race, creed, colour or sexual orientation.

I'd say that diversity is the appreciation of the differences we have as individuals and ethnic groups.
Remember, you are unique, just like everyone else!

Hue, excitement, a kaleidoscope of sights, a ray of light breaking into all colors of the spectrum, continuous learning, continuous discoveries, unpredictable horizons, beauty, straights, gays, bisexuals and all possible genders that nature can create from it's great melting pot.... Diversity is life as we know it.
