I grew up on these bands. I still listen to them 30 years later, but also many other forms of music too. My list is in order of which bands I heard first: The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Generation X, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Stiff Little Fingers, Sham 69, The Slits, The Undertones, The Skids, ATV, The Buzzcocks, The Jam, The Lurkers, The Damned, The Stranglers, 999, Killing Joke, Discharge, G.B.H., and Anti-Pasti to name but a few.
As for all-time bands, I still love the originality of the Skids, The Stranglers, and Killing Joke.

Everyone's gonna tell you The Clash. The Sex Pistols are amusing to me, but for that reason I listen to them. Generation X is kind of like early pop-punk. The Adicts are cool because they're still around... The Buzzcocks, The Damned, The Jam... The Slits are post punk technically, but they still kick ***, as do The Pop Group.
