What's the difference between a Toyota and a car?

The answer is simply 'nothing'. An iPod is a type of MP3 player made by Apple Inc. An MP3 player is essentially an electronic device that allows one to play MPEG layer 3 files which are generally music.

If you are seeking to purchase an MP3 player, you'd probably find the iPod is the most popular MP3 player on the market today. This causes the same confusion that other products have in the past. i.e. not all tissues are Kleenex, not all bandages are Band-aids, and not all Q-tips are well....Q-tips :).

Hope this will clear up any confusion.

An iPod is an mp3 player.

An mp3 is a type of file. It is a music file. ".mp3" is the file's extension.

Because music files can take up a lot of space, mp3s became popular because they are a compressed form of a music file. Compressed meaning that some of the hard to hear sounds are cut out to make the file much smaller.

Example: "Jay-Z - Hard Knock Life.mp3"...."happy_birthday.mp3"

A file is something stored on a computer that a computer can translate into information.

iPods are mini computers made by the Apple Corporation (or not so mini 80gb storage capacity) that can store files and play music and video files, including mp3s.

mp3 stands for Motion Pictures Expert Group Layer 3. The Motion Pictures Expert Group regulates standards for different types of recordable and visual media.

Hope that helps! Read the article below...enjoy!

An ipod is Apple's brand of mp3 player. They were first, they advertise a lot, and they are more expensive.

Any other mp3 player can do the same things but is cheaper and doesn't have the prestige that Apple products claim.

Currently ipods are the only ones with video but they rest will catch up with them by next year.

An Ipod is an mp3 player. It is just Apple's mp3 player. For example Sony's mp3 player is called the Bean. There are so many different types of mp3 players available. Apple's Ipod was just one of the first with video capabilities as well, that's why it has gotten so much hype.

IPOD is a brand, and MP-3 is the actual file.

So an IPOD is an mp-3 player, but not all mp-3 players are ipods.

I like the Sansa by Sandisk myself.

An ipod is all letters and a mp-3 player has a number in it. LOL Just kidding. One is bigger and plays more things. An ipod plays videos and music, the mp3 only plays music and the ipod has more memory.

Ipod is Apple's mp-3 player. Zune and others are made by other companies, but the Apple collection is the "in" one to have.
