i found this site (www.squidoo.com/bankit) that links to a page listing open bar events in any given city... has anyone gone to any of these and are they for real?

Yes, it's for real. Mostly boring gallery openings or poetry readings, but it can be fun if you take a friend. Cities are limited right now to NYC, LA, San Francisco and Chicago. More cities are supposed to be added soon.
