that supposedly ate the little girls toes off? It wasn't the dog it was their pet ferret that did it, the dad just blamed the dog because he didnt like it. Another bad wrap for pit bulls that was unjustified. No wonder people think they are bad dogs. It makes me mad that they would blame the dog just because they are pit bulls!! What do you guys think?

Just so you know I do realize that some pit bulls are mean, but some are very sweet. But like all dogs some are meaner than others, its not just pit bulls!

There are no bad dogs only bad people. Pit Bulls are great dogs until they are exploited and trained to be aggressive. I hate when ignorant people are just biased because they believe too many news stories. I hate Nancy Grace I think she is the most closed minded stupid B****. Everytime she bashed the Pit Bulls ahe has to air segements on Pit Bulls fighting, and she just drives me crazy. The Pit bulls are NOT the problem it is the idiots that train and fight them. And for those people who obvisously have issues they should be shot for neglecting their child and then trying to take a lying way out. I am sorry the whole thing makes me made. I have a pit bull and a Labrador. I hate the way people treat the Pit Bull when he would not even hurt a fly. But the always want to hug the Lab who really does not like strangers. It is just ignorance.

My neighbors have a pit bull that they let out without a leash, and I'm not the least bit afraid of. He's a sweet dog! But I've had a mean pit bull that actually bit me in the face when I was younger. Does the dog being a pit bull have anything to do with it? No. Even me, after being attacked by one, still understand that some dogs are just meaner than others. Nothing to do with being a pit bull. Poor pups!

Pit Bull are America's mascot. I used to work as a Veterinary Technician in an animal shelter for 3 years. We had lots of Pit Bull come through. I never felt threatened by any of them. Their temperment all depends on the owner and how they are trained. The breed that I wouldn't consider for a family dog is a Dalmation. Durning my time at the shelter we had several problematic dalmations come in. One (dalmation) chased a co-worker up the kennel door. One Dalmation took a 3 year boy's face off.
I would have a Pit Bull as a family dog in a heartbeat.

They have showed that the newspaper that ran this article did no research on it, didn't even go to the house. And if you read the original article, it questioned how a puppy, regardless of breed, could have chewed through a child's foot period, let alone without the parents knowing. They never "blamed" the dog, they questioned the parents story, their living conditions, etc, but the original article never blamed the dog.
As you said in your addendum to your question. I agree with you, anything with teeth can bite. I work for a vet and have been bitten by two dogs (one a golden, one my own Boxer), and have been almost bitten by lots and lots and lots of "family friendly" breeds (dachshunds, beagles, goldens, labs, cockers, etc). I have seen far more aggressive "family" breed dogs than I have bully breed dogs.

Pitbulls and Rotts get bad reps because they are so physically powerful and it's the choice of gangsters to train to be aggressive. Any dog can be aggressive regardless of the size so yes, it severely ticks me off when they always blame the dog instead of the owner! Put the owner to sleep!

Um...meals itself and dietary supplements won't make your pit bull "greater and bulkier and more potent watching." This is due MOSTLY to genetics and right wellness care and recreation. You have got to be involved approximately having a healthful puppy, no longer the "ultra-modern" puppy...

It sounds too much like a hoax. I can see a ferret biting, but not biting off toes. Biting off toes does not sound like a pitbull thing.
