WHAT A GREAT QUESTION.

If you are asking about recently, I'm at a loss. I'm sure there are some good ones in the past few years, but I can't tell you what they are.

Tejano music might still be thriving today if it weren't for the in-fighting amongst the artists and record labels. In the early 90's, one record label claimed all the awards were going to other record labels and the war started. So some record labels boycotted the TMA. WHAT A SHAME.

Then, 5-8 years ago a Tejano group refused to accept a grammy. Talk about shooting oneself in the foot.

So for my money, the good songs are in the past but still a part of my cd collection: Selena, Mazz, La Mafia, Emilio, all put out some great music.

As far as favorite songs.

...and on and on. There were so many great songs recorded during the late 80's early 90's, that many went unnoticed because of the other great ones. A funny thing I didn't know about cds back then, most of the Tejano artists included a country song in English on their cds.
