My ipod shuffle isn't working. I have updated it but no sound is coming out of it when i try to listen to it.

Nano. Download the software updater from the Apple Web site for your model and reimage the Ipod.

you should get a turtle shufle even though they arnt the coolest they work awesome i know because thats what i am gettibng for christmas my parents are out of town untill tuesday in New York so stupid i have been listening to it all the time and it works great

Do you have headphones or speakers plugged into it?!
There are no speakers on the shuffle itself.....
