I don't want to know about E911. I just want to know if I call 911 from a cellphone from my house as to whether or not my name and home address are provided to the PSAP? Situation: What if it is the closest phone and I don't have time to provide the name and address? Just maybe there is an intruder or I have been shot, etc.

Aramando, if you call 911 your cell signal should get routed to the nearest 911 center that series your center.

Your home address and name WILL NOT show up on their screen. We only get your cell phone number on the screen so we can call you back if need be.

If the 911 center is Phase II compliant, they will get latitude and longitude cooridinates of where your cell call is originating from. The accuracy may or may not be very good. So while they won't get the address, they may have a good idea of where the call is coming from.

If they did not locate you using the cooridnates, they can call your cellular provider and get your personal info if they believe it is a life or death emergency.

E911 is Enhanced 911. That applies only to landlines.

The answer above deosn't sound logical, for example if your travleing and you call 911 from a rest stop because your being mugged what good would it do for 911 assitance to go to your home if your not there. Think about it. You still have to give your current locatin.

The information is sent just as it would be on a caller id. The name and address that is on your cell bill will be sent to the 911 call center.

Rat, you fool. Read the question. He said if he was at home, not at a rest stop. That is what E911 is for.
