I quit my birth control. My last period was 11/18/06. I had intercourse several times on 12/15/06. Today is 12/21/06, and I have started to lightly bleed. I have heard about implementation bleeding and I would like to know how it differs in symptoms from period. Do you have cramps? Is it heavy or light? Any changes in color? How many days does it last? I've read that you can have implementation bleeding 5-7 days after conception, which is why I'm anxious to tell if this is my period or not. Thanks so much for any help!!!!

It's possible that what you are experiencing is implantation bleeding. It's usualy lighter, sometimes there are light cramps with it. It's more like spotting than a flow of a period.

From my own experience, coming off the pill is a pain, your body has to regulate itself to it's own hormones which can take a while (Took me a year and a half) Especially if you weren't regular when you went on the pill.

But as always, when in doubt, see a doctor.

You usually ovulate 14 days after you period if you have a 28 day cycle. I the only time you had sex was on 12/15, the chances are slim, but still possibal. Now if you had sex around 11/30-12/2 you have a better chance. I hope everything works out for you though. Merry christmas and happy holidays.

Its very light bleeding and not many experience it. The cases Ive herd of were only for a day or so and light! No bright red just pink or brown. I don't recall ever hearing cramping.

when you come off birth control it takes a while for your body to get adjusted. My body did the same thing for a few months. Its just spotting. It will sometimes happen between your periods. It is really annoying! But it is probaly not implantaion bleeding. Good Luck with getting it straight!

It's called IMPLANTATION bleeding and only 1/3 of women actually have it. From what I understand it is like light spotting.
